Location: Highland Center Arts
Materials: No additional fees. Participants should bring their own DSLR or
mirrorless camera and lenses, tripod, shutter release cable, laptop loaded with a photography
processing program such as “Lightroom Classic,” and a USB flash drive.

Workshop Summary: A review of camera and composition basics, field work in the beautiful fall
foliage of Highland County, with a show and critique of photographs taken in the field as a
culminating activity. Time and weather permitting, we can experiment with the advanced
techniques of HDR, panoramics, slow shutter, and perhaps even some astrophotography.

About Michael Bedwell
Michael has been taking photographs of Highland County for more than 50 years, and is still awed by the beauty and variety of the landscapes here. He has won several awards in the Scenic Virginia Vitas contest, exhibits in galleries in Monterey and Staunton and is
an instructor at the John C. Campbell Folk School.
